Since the beginning our research has been focussed on studying the role antioxidants play in the health & wellbeing of the body, and testing innovative extraction techniques with locally sourced vegetables through non-contaminating processes. Thanks to continuous research we were able to develop innovative extraction processes of Lycopene from tomatoes, Anthocyanins from red grapes, Tocopherols and Tocotrienols from oily seeds.
The extraction technology of antioxidants developed by Licofarma is innovative because, alongside being environmentally friendly, it allows the achievement of organic grade active ingredients with higher bioavailability. This is thanks to CO2 in sub or supercritical conditions, instead of synthetic chemical solvents, toxic and harmful, used in traditional extraction processes.
In Licofarma, formulation research doesn’t end with natural antioxidants, and thanks to continuous formation and synergic partnerships with the top ingredients suppliers, our formulators research the best synergies between active ingredients to create cosmetics and supplements able to satisfy people's needs of innovation and effectiveness.
We collaborate and partner up with several public bodies and universities for our research activities. We have created an ongoing 20+ years relationship with some of them for the realization of numerous research projects, in particular:
